ASSOCIATION OF JAPANESE GEOGRAPHERS

The Association of Japanese Geographers was founded in 1925 and is devoted to promoting research on various aspects of geography in Japan. With recent developments in Jananese geography and ever increasing international contacts, the Association launched the English issue of the Geographical Review of Japan in 1984. The English issue appears twice a year. Each issue contains papers in English on a wide range of subfields of geography. The Geographical Review of Japan English Edition intends to provide an international medium for the publication of articles that will give new concepts, ideas and scope to geography.
We invite your application for full membership of the Association of Japanese Geographers or a subscription of the Geographical Review of Japan English Edition.

ACTIVITIES OF THE AJG

(1) Promoting studies and communication in geography.

(2) Publication of Geographical Review of Japan (GRJ).

- Monthly publication in Japanese.

- Biannual publication in English.

(3) Biannual meetings, research meetings, lectuers and excursions.

(4) Contacts with geographical and other academic institutions in Japan and abroad.

MEMBERSHIP

(1) Full member: Annual fee of 12,000 yen. Privileges include:

- Free subscription of Geographical Review of Japan, both Japanese and English issues.
- Rights to submit articles to both Japanese and English issues.
- Rights to participate in the meetings of AJG.
- Rights to elect or to be elected board members of AJG.
- Rights to use the facilities of AJG.
* Student discount: Undergraduate and graduate students can get the privilege of discount with the annual fee of 7,000 yen and enjoy all the privileges of full members.

(2) Subscriber: Annual fee of 4,000 yen. Privileges include:

- Free subscription of GRJ English Edition.
- Rights to submit articles to GRJ English Edition.
- Rights to participate in the meetings of AJG.
- Rights to use the facilities of AJG.
* The privileges do NOT include the rights of election.

HOW TO BE A FULL MEMBER OR A SUBSCRIBER

Please fill out an application form and send it to the AJG office. After AJG accepts your application, please pay the annual fee (12,000 yen for a full member, 4,000 yen for a subscriber) in the form of cash or an international money order.
