Yasuko Kataoka
President, Japan Association of Physical Education for Women (JAPEW)
Welcome to the JAPEW official Web site!
The Japan Association of Physical Education for Women (JAPEW) is an academic organization aiming to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of school and public physical education for women from a woman’s viewpoint. It celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2004.
We organize a number of annual events and programs to present research developments and to promote instructional methods that ensure a healthy and meaningful life for everyone from children to the elderly. As you can see from the project plan posted on our Web site, our undertaking covers a wide variety of activities ranging from publishing the monthly magazine Physical Education for Women, sponsoring a summer seminar and the All Japan Dance Festival–Kobe for High School and College Students, issuing the Dance Movement Instructor License (DMIL), and setting up the venue for the presentation of graduation and Master’s theses.
Instructors interested in school and community physical education and students who are studying to become an instructor are all welcome to join us. Come and get involved in activities designed to achieve a healthy and meaningful life. Let us combine our efforts for a common cause. Members of the JAPEW hope to keep growing as an organization that provides not only support and courage to the instructors of physical education for women, but also dreams and hopes to every woman who is trying to survive in this modern society. We would be more than grateful for your continued support and encouragement. |
