Overviews


This academic organization was founded on Oct. 11, 1998, to promote academic research in transpersonal psychology/psychiatry and related fields.

The research activities of JATP include:

  1. Psychological and psychiatric studies in human growth and potentiality.
  2. Studies of altered or nonordinary states of consciousness.
  3. Integration of Western psychology and Eastern or shamanistic spiritual disciplines.
  4. Promotion of inter- or transdisciplinary discussion in transpersonal studies.
  5. Endeavor to establish a new worldview that encompasses transpersonal experiences and spiritual potentialities of humanity.
