JPS Award
for Academic Papers on Physics
The JPS has established the Award for Academic Papers on Physics in order
to recognize and praise the achievement of researchers who have made important
contributions towards the progress of physics. Papers, excluding revue
articles, published in the JPSJ or Progress of Theoretical Physics・ along
with the latter's supplement issues, within 5 years from the June previous
to the award year. A maximum of five awards are given in a year, while
there may be a year in which there are no recipients of the award.
Award for the Encouragement of Young Physicists
The JPS has established this award in order to encourage young researchers
in their research work and further enliven the physics community. Recipients
are selected from each of the sub-disciplines, for their activities including
lectures at academic meetings, journal articles and degree theses. The
recipient must be a member of the JPS. Some 50 awards are given every year.
