The Society of Japan Aerospace and Environment Medicine was founded in 1955 to study aviation medicine, and has since evolved in accordance to the advancement of Japan's space development, sea development, and environmental medicine. Its goal in the coming century is to of mankind.
We welcome intellectually curious young people who are interested in this field of science, and look forward to their success.
Exchange of information between members is promoted through socicty meetings, public symposiums, and through the socicty's quarteriy joumal Japanese Jounal Aerospace and Environmental Medicine. Society meetings and symposiums provide an excellent opportunity for the exchange of information between society members which include domestic and foreign experts in the fields of aerospace medicine, aerospace engineering, aerospace biology, underwater medicine, environmental medicine, and medical engineering.
The research target of the society, apparent from its name, is to elucidate the effects that arise when an organism, especially man, is placed in an extreme environment, such as space, high altitude, or underwater. By experimenting in such special environments and with on ground simulations, we endeavour to uncover the mysteries aud problems of extreme environmental health effects.
