This is the official English website of the Japan Society of International Economics (JSIE). This English website, along with its Japanese counterpart, offers the latest news and information on JSIE.

JSIE was founded on April 29, 1950. Its constitution states that its aim is to promote academic research of theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented international economics. It holds an annual conference, publishes proceedings in the official bulletin, International Economy and promotes coordination with academic associations inside and outside Japan.

Membership of our society stood at 1,311 on January 25, 2005. The Kanto Branch has 711 members, the Chubu 112, and the Kansai 477. The rest consists of 11 overseas members, 149 student members and 4 institutional members. The membership is increasing year by year.

JSIE holds an Annual Conference every year, usually in October. In this October, JSIE will hold the 68th Annual Conference in Chuo University, Tama Campus. Now, the Program Committee and the Executive Committee in our society are preparing a detailed program. We will announce the information on our conference as soon as possible. We are hoping that many scholars will join our next Annual Conference.

JSIE is composed of three branches. On the official website of each branch, as in every annual conference, anyone can refer to all uploaded resumes and papers in advance.

This official English website is managed by Hirohiko Shimpo, director of JSIE. If you have any questions and comments, please send them to the following e-mail address:
