The JSME established at 1985 are promoting and supporting the microbial ecology and associated subjects.
Microbes are of importance in whole processes on Earth Ecosystem, such as fertility of soils and aquatic environments, fermentation, biodegradation of wastes and biomass, and infectious disease. Humanity has been employing tne many microbes in biotechnology for material production and agriculture, etc. The science of microbial ecology includes these subjects. There are opportunities in this field that the microbiologists working in different disciplines can meet each other, sometime find novel concept, and start new collaboration study. The objective of Japanease Society of Microbial Ecology (JSME) is to advance the science of microbial ecology by the following activities.
Organizing annual meeting and supporting scientific meetings in Japan
Publishing the scientific journal - Microbes and Environments
Supporting education and research activities

Past Annual Meeting Program and Poster Prize
