What: Travel awards to cover the cost of travel to the 9th International
Paratuberculosis Colloquium.

Eligibility: For students and postdocs performing research on Johne’s
disease

How to apply: If you are a student who has already submitted an
abstract for consideration of the Merkal Award, you don’t need to
do anything. Your abstracts will be forwarded to the JDIP Executive
Committee for review and consideration. If you are a postdoc, you
need to submit your abstract to Steen Erikson via email
at Please include a letter (on letterhead)
from your supervisor clearly stating that you have
postdoctoral status within his/her laboratory.

Deadline: The deadline to submit abstracts is July 31, 2007. This is the
same as the abstract deadline for the 9th ICP.

Award amount: The award will cover travel expenses up to $2,000 (USD)
plus $500 (USD) for registration. Any remaining expenses above this
award must be covered by the award recipient. A certificate will
be informally presented at the 9th ICP meeting and the travel
expenses will be paid after submission of receipts.

Notification: Awardees of the JDIP sponsorship will be notified
in mid-late August.
