| EDITORIAL NOTE | ||
| Scope of the Journal: The Japanese Journal of Physiology publishes papers which present the author's own original experimental work and fall within the broad range of physiology. Membership in the Society is not a prerequisite for publication. Short Communications, when accepted, will be processed as quickly as possible to meet the requirement for rapid publication. Papers concerned with methods are accepted as Technical Notes if they involve new principles and are shown to be of value and interest to physiologists. | ||
History of
the Journal: The Japanese Journal of Medical
Sciences, Part III, Biophysics was founded by the National Research
Council of Japan in 1927 and was continued until 1945. After several years
of interruption, The Physiological Society of Japan decided to publish
The Japanese Journal of Physiology (Jpn. J. Physiol.) to succeed to
the above-mentioned periodical, but with a broader range to include papers
on physiology covering a wider scope than that of biophysics. Dr. Yas Kuno
edited the Journal from 1951 to 1970 (volume 20). Thereafter, the Society
organized an editorial board, and entrusted the task of publication to
Center for Academic Publications Japan starting with volume 21 (1971).
Since 1989 the Society publishes an additional issue, The Supplement for
the Proceedings of Annual Meeting of the Physiological Society of Japan, which covers all the
research activities currently going on in the Society.
