About the Society of Silicon Chemistry, Japan

Welcome to the homepage of SSCJ. The Society of Silicon Chemistry, Japan , a non-profit organization created to promote the development of silicon and related chemistry, has been founded in June, 1996. Currently SSCJ has over 550 Japanese and foreign members.

Recently, silicon chemistry observes astonishing development in inorganic, organic, and polymer fields as well as quantum and biochemistry. As seen in silicon polymers, silicon compounds inherit unexpected new and high function defferent from carbon compounds. Thus silicon chemistry is essential part of the fundamentals in 21st century which expected higher functions.
On the other hand, silicon chemistry in Japan has been developing with organometallic devision of Kinki Chemical Society,
Society of Silicon Photochemistry, and Society of organic silicon materials. In June, 1996, aiming a leap in silicon chemistry, Society of Silicon Photochemistry and Society of Organosilicon Materials were unified to found the Society of Silicon Chemistry, Japan, as the first example of silicon society in the world.
SSCJ welcomes every silicon chemist, engineer, and reseacher in order to establish coordination of pure and applied research.
